She was born in Amar, Syria to Zakhour and Ajia (Kassis) Hazim.
Kay is survived by her loving daughters, Shirley Gordon (David), Jennifer Salloum (Salim), Janet Azar, and Cheryl Azar; her grandchildren, Allison, Katherine, and Ashley; and her siblings, Maani, Aziz, and Antoinette. She is predeceased by her husband, Fred Azar, parents Zakhour and Ajia Hazim, and sister Lily Azar.
Kay grew up in Amar, Syria and moved to the United States in 1969. She married her husband, Fred, shortly thereafter. They raised their four daughters in a safe, loving, and generous home. She was loved and truly respected by her late husband, Fred. Kay loved spending time with her daughters and granddaughters more than anything. She was a great role model and incredible mother and grandmother.
Kay was a happy and strong, independent woman. Her laughter and voice filled and brightened every room she was in. She was very active. She loved playing card games with her family, tending to her large vegetable garden, and cooking delicious meals. She was also a walking enthusiast and loved to take daily walks listening to her favorite Arabic songs.
Kay cared deeply about her siblings and kept in close touch with them. She was always willing to help any family member or friend in their time of need. She did anything she could for those she cared about. Kay will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday December 17, 2025 from 9:30 - 11 AM, with a funeral service at 11 AM at Resurrection Funeral Home, located at 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI, 48038. Final resting place, Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp, Michigan.
