Krystn was born to Bernard and Dolores Lubitz on January 6th,1960 where she joined her sister Lorol and her brother Bernie and completed their family. She grew up spending her entire childhood in St Clair Shores, MI and was a graduate of Lakeshore High School. She remained in touch with her childhood best friends, Nancy, Karen and Rhonda until her last days, always planning the next get together or girls' weekend.
Krystn met the love of her life, Mike, while working at Welch MacAlpine Law Firm and they were married March 11,1995. Throughout their life they enjoyed traveling to new places, fishing together, eating Krys' home cooked meals, spending time with their grandchildren and an occasional round of political banter, just for fun. They resided together in Clinton Township, Michigan for over 30 years and she will be deeply missed in their home.
Krys' three girls, Amber, Brittany and Julia meant the world to her. She was always the first to celebrate their accomplishments and the one they turned to in times of sadness. She was always there, a constant steady support, and she will be so dearly missed by them all. They have fond memories of family backyard BBQs, their family trip to Hawaii, many Disneyworld trips and fishing in Oscoda. She gave them all their love for Disney and their feminist beliefs leading them to stand up for women in all walks of life. They were all lucky to call her their mom.
Though she was an avid bird watcher, a phenomenal cook, and a sender of care packages, Krystn's favorite role was that of grandparent. She treasured her time with all six of her grandkids and loved being their "Grandma Daisy Duck", never failing to be at every performance, sending them any obscure item they ever randomly mentioned they wanted, and making sure they got the famous birthday song, year after year. They were all blessed to know her and have felt her love.
Everyone who knew Krys, knew her love of feeding people. From sourdough bread to birthday cakes, stuffed cabbage to Christmas dinner, her get-togethers were never short on food! You never came to her house and left hungry and she always sent everyone with a To Go box. Cooking was truly her love language!
Krys will always be remembered for her strong will, her holiday meals, for giving the best hugs and her ability to make everyone feel like family. We could not have asked for a better wife, mother, sister and grandmother and we will miss her everyday. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her.
Krystn is preceded in death by her mother Dolores, her father Bernard, and her brother Bernie. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Mike Sickles, her sister Lorol (Donald) Brackx, her daughters Amber (Bradley) Kerman, Brittany Weingartz, and Julia Sickles, and her 6 grandchildren Avery, Finnley and Beckett Kerman and Peyton, Tatum and Camden Weingartz.
She loved to be outside and Michigan summers, so a celebration of life will happen at a later date to be determined, when we can all gather outdoors to honor her life and amazing legacy.
