Laura Emily Wisniewski

Laura Emily Wisnewski passed away on October 29, 2024 at the age of 80. Laura was raised in Hamtramck on Moran Street and graduated from Hamtramck high school in 1961. Laura worked for JL Hudson before moving onto a career with Fisher Body General Motors, where she retired from.

Laura dedicated much of her life to helping her sister Lorraine raise her nieces and nephews. Where Lorraine was, Laura would forever be by her side. When Laura retired from GM she was able to build her dream home. This is where she and Lorraine would reside for over 25 years, filling yet another home with the love of family and endless cherished memories gathering around the kitchen table.

Laura enjoyed and treasured her lifelong childhood friends and the family she made with her GM coworkers. She would continue to meet for breakfast with them on a regular basis.

Laura was so much more than an aunt. She was a second mother, a true and loyal friend, confidant and mentor to so many. She sacrificed her wants and needs for her family. She welcomed everyone into her life. Acquaintances and friends became family. Her generosity was endless. She was a self-made independent woman who embodied old school values, and the true meaning of integrity and grace. She will be sorely missed by her nieces, nephews and friends always.

A visitation for Laura will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Rd, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. A committal service will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan. Please meet inside the cemetery gate at 10:00 am.
