He was born on July 4, 1942 in Hamtramack, MI to Stanley and Eleanor (Szweda) Davin. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Evelyn (Kamon) Davin, two children Brian Davin PhD of Whiteland, IN, and Amy (James) Gordon of Clinton Twp.; his grandchildren Rachel Gordon, Dallas Gordon and Derek Gordon; his sister Lenore (Edward) Vican and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his parents, brother Rodney Davin and sister Geraldine Bartlett.
After serving in the United States Army, Lawrence went to work at Ford Motor Company for 40 years before retiring to take care of his triplet grandchildren, whom he adored. He was an avid coin and stamp collector.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday January 17, 2022, beginning with a gathering at 9:30 am until time of service at 10:30 am, at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
Family will receive friends on Sunday January 16, 2022, from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beaumont Hospice or the American Heart Association.
