Lenore was the beloved wife of 57 years to Edward Vican, whom she married on September 27, 1968. Together they built a warm and loving home centered on family, laughter, and the simple joys she cherished.
In her early adult years, Lenore worked in retail before opening her own home daycare business—a calling that perfectly matched her gentle spirit and love for children. Over the years she cared for countless little ones, many of whom continued to keep in touch with her long into their adulthood. Her nurturing heart left a lasting imprint on the children she welcomed through her doors.
Lenore was a talented and lifelong crafter. She enjoyed sewing quilts, blankets, curtains, and Halloween costumes, and she spent many happy hours creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces. Most recently, she found joy in diamond art. She was also an avid reader who loved to get lost in mystery, thriller, and romance novels.
A great appreciator of flowers, Lenore loved tending to and admiring the blooms her family planted for her each year. She had a special fondness for animals—especially dogs—and throughout her life she delighted her children with all kinds of pets, like cats, guinea pigs, gerbils and parakeets. Her own cherished canine companions were many over the years, but her most current devoted furry friends Shamus (her miniature poodle) and Magnus (her yorkie) will miss her very much.
Lenore is survived by her loving husband, Edward; her children Shannon Pierson (Dennis Meyers), Dawn Boschman (Dennis), and Jason Vican (Robin); her six grandchildren Ashlee Scaramuzzino (Vinny), Nathan Pierson (Karli), Zachary Pierson (Faith), Shelbie Pardo (Mitchell), Amanda Boschman, and Kevin Boschman; and her first great-grandchild, Chase Scaramuzzino. Lenore is also survived by sister-in-law Evelyn Davin and brother-in-law Stanley Bartlett, nieces and nephew Amy Gordon (Jim), Brian Davin, Sharon Bartlett-Bosley, Shelly Hagan and Susanne Bartlett-Moran, and great-niece and great-nephews Rachel, Dallas and Derek. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Eleanor Davin and siblings Lawrence Davin, Rodney (Marsha) Davin, and Geraldine Bartlett. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
