

Born on May 21, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan, Loretta was the daughter of Alfred and Lena (née Sherman) Affinito. One of seven children, she learned the value of hard work and perseverance from an early age. These qualities would remain with her throughout her life and serve as the foundation of her strength, independence, and devotion to her family.
On April 27, 1945, she married the love of her life, Joseph George Louiso, in Detroit. Up until his passing in 1998, they shared more than fifty years of marriage, building a life filled with love and laughter while raising their four children. The couple first made their home in Detroit before living along the lake in Harrison Township and later spending many happy years in Clinton Township.
During World War II, Loretta proudly served her country as a Rosie the Riveter. Following the war, she devoted herself to her family while pursuing many interests and talents that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
A gifted artist, Loretta developed a passion for painting, beginning with oil paints before discovering her love for watercolor. Her beautiful works often featured flowers, landscapes, and scenes from nature. She participated in art exhibits, belonged to a painting club, and created countless treasured pieces that continue to decorate the homes of her family members.
Loretta also enjoyed an active lifestyle and excelled in sports. She and Joseph spent many years bowling together in leagues, and golf became one of her greatest passions. She participated in golfing leagues and continued to enjoy the game well into her eighties. She also enjoyed taking nightly walks and embraced every opportunity to stay active.
A faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, Loretta enjoyed participating in the parish card club and cherished the friendships she made there. She and Joseph were also members of the Nomads Club and shared many memorable travels together, visiting Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean, Las Vegas, and California.
Above all else, Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she was always there with love, support, encouragement, and unwavering devotion.
Loretta is survived by her children, Shirley Lickman, Gary (Hanny Fong) Louiso, and Denise (Michael George) Louiso; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Louiso; her son, Charles Louiso; her son-in-law, Ronald Lickman; her parents, Alfred and Lena Affinito; and her six siblings.
Funeral services will be private. Loretta will be interred next to her husband Joseph at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, MI.
