It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lorraine Elizabeth Brandt (Nee Appelt), of Port Sanilac, who passed away on October 28, 2023. Lorraine was born on February 27, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to Fred & Dorothy Appelt.
Lorraine was a charter member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Warren, Michigan. She loved music and served as the Choir Director for the church. Lorraine enjoyed playing board games and cards, scrabble, Boggle and solitaire were among her favorites. She retired from the Warren Police Department as an Identification Technician. Lorraine could often be found looking out her window in Port Sanilac over the Lake Huron waters watching the Freighters, she also kept an eye on the birds and squirrels throughout her yard. She had a beautiful garden and took the most pride in her irises, tulips and snapdragons.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Keith (Renee) Brandt and Kevin (Debra) Brandt; her grandchildren, Andrew (Megan) Brandt, Adam (Jess) Brandt, and Madison Brandt; her brother, Don (Jo) Appelt and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bruce Glenn Brandt.
A visitation for Lorraine will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2pm to 8pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035, followed by a funeral service at 6:30 PM. Burial will be at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township, Michigan
