Lorraine G. Hengesbach

Lorraine G. Hengesbach, age 99, of Macomb, Michigan passed away peacefully with her children by her side on June 5, 2026. Born to Harold and Grace on September 21, 1926; beloved wife to Anthony for almost 64 years; dear mother to Vicky (Brad) and Dale; cherished grandmother to Adam, Jacob (Jenny), and Kirsten (Jon); and doting great-grandmother to Claire and Aerin. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughters, sister-in-law, nieces, nephew, and grand nieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and brother (Charles).

In addition to being an avid card player, Lorraine enjoyed golf, gardening, entertaining, and traveling (both at home and abroad). She was the unofficial family historian and a great storyteller; we will miss hearing about her countless experiences and adventures from over the course of a century well-lived.

Lorraine was adored by her entire extended family, collected treasured friends from many walks of life, and possessed an indisputably generous spirit. She was a devoted caregiver to her family and aging parents, a dedicated volunteer throughout her children’s school years, a cherished member of and ceaseless “doer” at her church, and a spreader of positivity wherever she went. One friend put it best upon hearing of her passing, “We don’t need to worry about where Lorraine is. She’s definitely in heaven, because she’s a saint.”

The family will greet relatives and friends at Kaul Funeral Home of Clinton Township on Friday, June 12th from 3:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, at American Lutheran Church, 38795 Mulberry Street, Clinton Township, Michigan 48036; instate at 9:30 AM until the time of service at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery in Macomb, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lutheran Church in memory of Lorraine.
