A World War II veteran, Louis achieved rank of Army Sergeant First Class Military Police. He retired as a Training Manager from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company/ DTE after 38 years. Louis enjoyed reading, but a slight impairment was no obstacle as he holds the record for the most audio books borrowed from the Clinton-Macomb Public Library.
He loved to collect antique firearms, military memorabilia, and other “unique” items. Louis also loved spending time in the North woods camping, hunting, fishing, and teaching proper firearm safety to those that joined him in shooting.
Opinionated, extremely witty, humorous, and generous, Louis was never at a loss for a word or comment that could brighten your day or make you feel better than you did. He loved his dog family, and spoiled them with treats and love. Most of all, he cherished his 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Pops” always loved when they shared their day and life with him, and looked forward to time and visits with all of them.
