Mao Yang

Born and raised as an orphan in Nroob Ntseej, Hoi Han, Xieng Khouans, Laos, she met her husband, Ntshiab Suav Kwm (Shaab), mayor of Tom Hok, Laos, who passed away during his brave services to the country.

She has six beautiful children Iab Kue, Ntsuab Npis Kwm, Ntaj Kwm, Pov Kwm, Kaum Kwm Yaj, and Vaj Xu Kwm and blessed with 29 grandchildren.

As of 1970 she was a passionate and devoted single mother who provided eternal health and happiness for her children.

Where ever she went, humor and happiness always followed. She was known for being young at heart and she created an abundance of friends. Friends and family looked up to her because of her talent for natural medicinal remedies. During her free time, she loved to share detail packed stories that left everyone who was listening asking for more. There is probably not one hmong movie she hasn’t seen as her interest for dramatic movies was great. Mao Yang was a strong and passionate woman who had unconditional love for her family. She will always be remembered and loved deeply in our hearts.
