Margaret M. Fox, age 96 of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on December 2, 2023. She was the beloved mother of Michael Ambrose Fox, Larry Fox (Lauren), Greg Fox and Lorraine Wick (Kevin); Cherished grandmother of Sean, Jacqui (Chris), Rachel (Evan), Alyssa and Michelle (Patrick); Treasured great-grandmother of Veda, Kiptyn, Leo, Dovey and Lennon; Dearest sister of Gertrude Shattuck; Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ambrose Fox and her two sons, Thomas Anthony Fox and James Robert Fox.
Margaret was born on September 15, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Elizabeth Reekie, one of five children. At the age of 10, her family made their way back to Scotland before World War II, and she lived there until about the age of 20. She always spoke of the many happy memories and good times of her 10 years in Scotland, and was most proud of her Scottish heritage. When she returned to the United States in her early adulthood, she married her husband, Ambrose and together they started their family. A mother of 6 children, Margaret always ran a tight ship and took care of business, and kept a very clean house. She loved her family fiercely, making sure she was always there for them when she was needed. She was also a strong, independent and adventurous person. At the age of 39 she obtained her driver’s license and loaded her family up to trek to Niagara Falls, never looking back or giving a second thought to not having taken a long-distance trip before. Margaret is greatly admired by her family, and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 2-8 PM with a brief service at 7 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan.
