Marlene was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 1st 1937 to the late Antoine and Genevieve Malbouef. She was raised in Roseville, MI and lived in her family home until 2023.
Marlene worked in accounting for 38 years at The Equitable in Detroit, in the Penobscot building (and later relocated to Troy, MI). She loved sharing memories of shopping at Hudson’s downtown.
She was known as “Cha-Cha” to her close family and friends. She had a passion for her dogs and every neighbor’s dog. She always had treats for dogs passing by.
Marlene owned a vacation lake home in Delton, MI for 14 years. Many memories were made with her family boating, swimming and great conversations on the deck. She loved the 4th of July boat parade. She was known for her pretzel Jell-O and homemade apple sauce.
She also devoted her time as a member of various clubs and spending time with her friends.
Marlene is survived by her brother Lawrence (Barb) Malbouef and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Lionel (Ernestine) Malbouef and sister Lorraine Malbouef.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8th from 3-8pm. Funeral service will be held at Holy Innocents St. Barnabas Catholic Church on Thursday, July 9th at 10am with an instate prior at 9:30am.
