Martha Mary Semrau

Martha Mary (Schramski) Semrau, 92, was born in Dwight Township, Michigan on April 14, 1926 and passed away May 31, 2018 at St. John's Hospital, Warren, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Arthur, granddaughter Kelly Bauroth; Brothers Anthony (Florence), Frank (Theresa), John (Helen), Bernard (Genevieve and Stella), Felix and sisters Regina (Michael) Lasceski, Anna (John) Lasceski, Marie (Leonard) Osentoski.

Martha is survived by

Children: Mary Ann (Robert) Hanley, Pat (Dennis) Berchulc Sr., Arnold (Patti) Semrau, Diana (Jeff) Tomsha, Laura (David) Marcelewski, Dan Semrau, Jerry (Krista) Semrau

Grandchildren: Lisa (John) Minto, Sean (Ashley) Hanley, Dennis (Kristy) Berchulc Jr., Cate (Frederic) Vautard, Carrie (Semrau), Gregg (Michelle) Tomsha, Alan (finance Erika Wagner) Tomsha, David (Kristen) Marcelewski; Great-grandchildren Ann, Claire, Jessica, and Lydia Minto; Kylee, Claudia, and Owen Bauroth; Madison and Maxon Hanley; Alex, Grace, and Andrew Berchulc; Lena Tomsha Siblings: Genevieve (the late Eugene Peruski) and Joseph (the late Ruth) Schramski; Sister-in-laws: Therese (the late Don) Semrau and Rosemary (the late Joseph) Semrau.

Martha was a long-time member of St. Raymond Church in Detroit. Before moving to the Detroit area from Kinde she worked at the Level Factory in Port Austin, Michigan. On September 25, 1948 Martha married Arthur Semrau at St. Mary’s Church in Kinde. They resided in Detroit where she stayed home to raise their seven children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, bingo, and watching the Detroit Tigers.

Visitation, Tuesday June 5, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Wednesday June 6, from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield, Clinton Twp.

Thursday, June 7 In state at 10:00 a.m. at Kaul Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 E 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Roseville, Michigan.

Because of you, I found a very special friend in your daughter, Laura. You're both very special ladies. In my heart I feel you are much happier and at peace now.
