Marvin lived a life defined by love, hard work, family, and friendship.
His love story began when he met Cindy as teenagers. What started in their younger years grew into a lifetime of love and commitment, spanning 57 years of marriage. Together, they built a life, raised four sons, and created a family that became Marvin’s greatest pride and joy.
Marvin was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind four sons, nine grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, each of whom held a special place in his heart. To family and friends, he was simply known as “Paw” — a name that represented the love, comfort, and familiarity he brought to so many lives.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Marvin was a hardworking man who believed in providing for and taking care of his family. He was a skilled carpenter and a master of many trades, able to build, fix, and figure out just about anything. His hands were rarely idle, and his dedication to his family was evident in everything he did.
Beyond his hard work, Marvin knew how to enjoy the things he loved. He enjoyed watching his cowboys,, settling in for a good Western movie, and following NASCAR. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, especially a good steak, potato, and coleslaw.
Above all, Marvin treasured his family and friends. He was a man who made an impression on everyone he met, and those who knew him loved him. His presence, his stories, his knowledge, and the love he shared will be deeply missed.
Marvin’s legacy is not measured only in the years he lived, but in the family he built, the lives he touched, the things he created with his hands, and the love he leaves behind.
To so many, he was Paw. To his family, he was so much more. He will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cindy; their children, Jim (Kathy), Mark (Barb), Steve, Dave (Amy); grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Dylan, Braeden, Collin, Jake, Harrison, Matthew, Henry; great-granddaughter, Amelia; his sisters, Joan ( the late Larry) Jackson, Debbie (Bill) Strickland; many nieces and nephews; and an extended family member, Jessica.
Visitation will be held on November 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
