Dear Russ,

Regardless of what Hallmark & American Greetings tell us, there are no adequate words in expressing sympathies for the grief that accompanies the death of one's mother. It's a process that one has to experience firsthand to truly understand. Your mom was talented, compassionate, industrious, and loving; fine traits that she instilled in you and your siblings. I know this: She made you the person that you are today and she lives on through the work of your hands. The tree may shed its leaves, but the roots remain strong and intact.

With sincerest condolences,

--elle
