Mary Ann McAllister, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. A resident of Farmington Hills for the past 10 years and formerly of Livonia for 40 years, Mary Ann lived a life rooted in faith, family, and compassion.
She was born on September 28, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, to Adam and Frances Stonick. Mary Ann was raised in Detroit and graduated from Holy Redeemer High School. She carried her Catholic faith with her throughout her life and was a member of St. Alexander Church in Farmington Hills.
Mary Ann enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent for many years, retiring in the early 2000s. Volunteering was a very important to her, whether it be with the Wayne County Child Guidance Clinic, leading a Girl Scout troop, the League of Woman Voters, or working in a soup kitchen. On February 19, 1955, she married the love of her life, William McAllister. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their family, sharing many happy years until his passing on October 2,1997.
Mary Ann will be remembered as a loving, and vibrant woman who lived an incredible life. She would not want her family and friends to dwell in sadness, but instead to remember the love and laughter she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will live on through all who knew her.
Mary Ann had a special gift for connection and truly enjoyed socializing. She formed many meaningful friendships throughout her life, especially during her time at The Commons of Corewell Health in Farmington Hills, where she lived for the past decade.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving children, Karen Fitzhenry, Laurie McAllister, Cindy (Mark) Michniewicz, Terri (Mike) Lesperance, and Brian McAllister; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and her sister, Judy (Mick) Fournier.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William McAllister; her grandson, Dustin Tobias; her parents, Adam and Frances Stonick; and her brother, Jerry Stonick.
