Born on March 24, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Michael lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. He was a devoted family man, a proud U.S. Navy veteran, and a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Michael retired from the Mt. Clemens Post Office after many years of service. A passionate outdoorsman, he had a special love for fishing and hunting, with a particular fondness for ice fishing and a million stories about it. He also found joy in hunting trips, often accompanied by those who shared his enthusiasm for the great outdoors.
In addition to his love of the outdoors, Michael was an avid fan of sports. Whether it was watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings, or cheering on Ohio State University, he could always be found in front of the television, shouting at the screen with the enthusiasm of a lifelong supporter. Another great passion of Michael’s was the Kentucky Derby and horseracing. He loved the excitement of race day, always looking forward to the annual event.
For many years, Michael enjoyed vacations at Sanibel Island, where he found peace and happiness in the warmth of the Florida sun and the bounty of fresh seafood. The memories of those vacations and the countless meals shared together will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Michael was a man of many interests and a heart full of love for his family, friends, and the activities that brought him joy. He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael is survived by his wife, Nancy Kacprzak; daughters, Renee Zalewski and Andrea (Vito) Salvaggio; step-sons: Brian (Sandra) Kacprzak, Kevin Kacprzak, and Scott Kacprzak; and grand-grandchildren: Noah and Tanner Zalewski, Emma and Ava Salvaggio, Ava Johnston, Sebastion and Lindsay Kacprzak.
