Mike was born on April 24, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to his parents, Michael Patrick Conlon Sr. and Alice (née Liss) Conlon. He spent his early years in Detroit before being raised in East Detroit, now known as Eastpointe, where he graduated from East Detroit High School. He went on to build a long career, first as a sewing machine repairman and later as a supervisor for Chrysler, where he worked for more than 40 years before retiring in 1997.
On April 24, 1965, Mike married the love of his life, Pamela Lee Yamin, in East Detroit. Sharing a wedding anniversary with his birthday made the day all the more special, and together they celebrated more than 60 years of marriage while building a loving home and raising their family.
Mike was a hardworking, strong-willed man who took great pride in providing for his family. A true gentleman, he was chivalrous, generous, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, though he would rarely ask for help himself. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His daughter Elizabeth lovingly referred to him as the perfect daddy, a reflection of the special bond he shared with his family.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed heading up north to his cabin, hunting, and playing cards. Some of his most cherished memories were made during family vacations to Torch Lake with his siblings, a tradition he continued with his own family. He loved sitting around the bonfire, enjoying the company of those closest to him, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He also found simple pleasure in watching the birds and squirrels outside. Also a fan of the Harry Potter movies, Mike celebrated his 80th birthday with a memorable Harry Potter-themed party.
Above all, Mike treasured his family. Whether gathered around a bonfire, enjoying time up north, or simply sharing everyday moments at home, he was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. His dedication, kindness, and quiet strength will remain a lasting part of the family he worked so hard to build and support.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Conlon; his children, Shawn (Steve) Lovalvo, Michael (Debbie) Conlon III, Kimberly (Sam) Mashour, and Elizabeth (Kevin) Sharpe; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild on the way; his brother, Brian Conlon; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Conlon Sr. and Alice Conlon; his siblings, Sharon McPhee, Carol (Marv) Bodick, Diane (Tom) Martin, Kevin Conlon, and James Conlon; and his sister-in-law, Maria Conlon.
Visitation for Mike will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
