Michael was a truly wonderful person, he was kind, patient, thoughtful and was known for giving the best hugs. He was an amazing husband, father and loved his family, friends and faith. Michael was an avid sports fan and loved the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. A special part of Michael’s life was performing with the church dance and theatre company during which he made many friends who held deep in his heart. Michael never met a stranger he didn't like and that kindness contributed to his career in automotive sales. He will be missed by many.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sherry Preece; their children, Gregory Preece and Nolan Preece; their beloved dog, Farley; his sisters, Cindy Preece, Cheryl (Art) Herzog; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends who were like family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Rob Preece.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, at Kaul Funeral Home, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family kindly encourages guests to wear Tigers gear. A Memorial Service for Michael will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am with visitation starting at 10:00 am at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
