It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Norbert “Butch” T. Hubert of St. Clair Shores. Born in Detroit on July 29th, 1949, to Norbert J. Hubert and Elizabeth R. Hubert, Butch went home to the Lord on July 16th, 2026.
Butch was a man of boundless energy, unwavering strength, and a generous spirit. Known for his wit and playful charm, he never missed an opportunity to make people smile. He loved hunting, fishing, building and racing cars, bowling, riding motorcycles, and the pastime he grew to cherish most of all: golf. He was dedicated to fundraising and volunteering for charities, most notably the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Butch met the love of his life, Christina, in grade school. They were married in December 1968, sharing more than 57 years of laughter and devotion. Together they raised three children and five loyal pups, traveled with dear friends, and took immense pride in being present in cheering on their grandchildren. Above all else, Butch’s family was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Hubert; his three children, Theresa (Bob), Norbert, and Philip; his two grandchildren, Noah and Haley; and his six siblings, Pamela, Alan (Susan), Barbara (John), Bruce, Cynthia, and Lisa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert J. and Elizabeth Hubert; and his brothers Gary and Richard Hubert.
We welcome friends to join us in honoring his life on Wednesday, July 29th. Details can be found below. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family are appreciated to help offset medical expenses.
