Patricia A. Begin

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Jim Begin; Brother, Jim (Nancy) Beauregard, Dear sister-in-law to Bernie (Bev) Begin, Mary Jane (Pat) Ryan, Diane Begin, Tom (Kathy) Begin, Annie (Pete) Case, Joe (Barb) Begin, and the late David Begin (Linda). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Patty proudly was a teacher and a teacher of teachers. She believed in the power of education to make the world a better place and continuously volunteered in the education field even after her retirement. She was an avid outdoorsperson who appreciated the beauty of nature; especially kayaking, hiking, bird watching, and golfing with Jim, her family, and her friends. She made those friends easily and often wherever she went, from her life-long grade school group to the people she met on her travels. She had friends across the country and made it a point to keep in touch. Patty maintained a family of close friends with the Sisters of Mercy at McAuley Center in Farmington Hills.

Patty had an incredibly generous spirit and always saw the best in others. She dedicated countless hours volunteering to causes that were close to her heart and helped whenever she saw a need, all without fanfare. She was passionate about the arts and culture; spending many hours at the Traverse City Film Festival, where she volunteered and sponsored screenings. She especially loved "Up North" and was involved with the Island Lake Association for many years.

Patty loved and laughed often. Our lives are better for having known her.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at 3:00pm at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Sunday,February 25th, 2018 from 11:00 am until to the time of Service at 3:00 pm.
