Paul Gabriel Sanders of Lenox passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2020 at the age of 62.

Paul was born March 20, 1958 in Detroit, son of Gabriel “Sandy” Sanders and Faith “Mary” Sanders. As a child, he spent time with his family in northern Michigan where he learned to love the outdoors, fishing, and hunting and made lifelong friends. As a teenager, he developed a variety of skills while attending Davis Aerospace Technical High School and working at a local sports shop. Later, Paul enjoyed working as a machinist at several companies over the years making long-lasting friendships with coworkers. Throughout his life, he amazed friends and family with his ability to fix ANYTHING. When Paul and Gale met, they immediately knew they were meant to be together and married on July 12, 1986 at Charity Lutheran Church in Detroit. They were blessed with two amazing children, their son Corey and daughter Julie. Paul shared his love for the outdoors and adventures with his family who learned from him how to hunt, fish, canoe/kayak, water ski, snowmobile and ride motorcycles. Paul also loved his pets and all his critters, ranging from stray cats and rescue dogs to chickens, turkeys, and pigs. Because of all his remarkable qualities, Paul was referred to as “a great man”, “like a brother”, and nicknames like “Powerhouse”, “MacGyver” and “Superman”.

Even though I saw him less frequently in the past couple years any time I would come over with Corey he would always not skip a beat. We'd go look at whatever project he was working on or that he was helping us with or maybe we'd just have a nice bon fire. He's a great man. Thanks Paul for being a part of my life and for being a good person to those around you. You will be missed assuredly.

Words are insufficient to heal the wound of such a loss. I worked with Paul, and my Experience with him was always pleasant - he was a gentleman, kind but with a witty funny side that always made me smile. God bless him on his journey to the next life and God bless his family as they go through this sad journey of losing a loved one. With all our Condolences - Mara Letica and family

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Gale, Cory & Julie. Paul will be so missed by all his family & friends. We will miss that smile of his, his wonderful sense of humor and most of all being such a good friend! This world will be a little darker with such a brilliant and smart man as Paul gone from us. Paul has been Sam's best Friend since High School and remembering the fond memories of Paul playing drums with Sam and Terry on guitar , and working on their bikes and cars together and all their fun adventures they went on. Those memories will never be forgotten ! Will always miss you Paul, rest in Peace & take care of those animals up in Heaven ! Sam & Shirley Wrubel

Paul and Gale were always a rock in my life. My husbands immediate family were not as close as my husband's Guy cousin Paul. Paul and Gale were steadfast throughout my marriage with Guy and were so supporting in his death. I cannot say how much I loved Paul and how much I love Gale. To lose Paul at such a young life is heartbreaking and I can only take comfort that he is in his mother's Mary loving arms. All my love, April Adams

Oh Gale and Julie and Corey... I’m a close friend of Sandy who told me about Paul. He was surrounded by love and energy which he’ll take to his parents. Hang in there as a family. My thoughts are with you and may Paul’s love surround you from above. Godspeed

Lots of great memories and laughs. To many to share. But I will share one that stands out. I hunted with Paul on his property up north. (some years ago) To this day it was the biggest buck I ever saw. But due to the lack of sleep (probably the beer) I fell asleep in the makeshift blind. Pretty sure the buck came in due to me snoring. Paul asked me if I seen anything. I told him “ I didn’t see a thing”. I was embarrassed to say I was sleeping. I don’t think I ever shared that with him. I will remember him in all the great memories and laughs we had. He was truly one of the “good guys”. Gale, Corey, and Julie, I pray the God gives you peace, understanding, and comfort. He will be greatly missed
