Pete Mansour Andary (90) passed away peacefully on June 5, just a few years shy of his goal of 96 years and his “arrest” (IYKYK). Pete was a devoted husband of the late Elsie (nee Kaleto) for 48 years and an amazing father to his children Mansour (Debbie), Donna (Jim) and Mark. Loving grandfather to Nathan (Kathy), Brian (Helen), Gina (Jacob), Anna, Peter, Amy, John, David, Paul, Tom and Jaclyn. Dearest great-grandfather to Gabriel and Samuel Andary, Lucy, Cecilia and Violet Hawersaat, and Margaret, Benedict and George Thackston. Pete was one of 14 children born to immigrant parents, Mansour and the saintly Marie. Faith and family were his utmost priorities. He will be missed by his last surviving sibling, Pauline, and the many, many nieces and nephews that brought him great joy. An army vet during the sweet spot between the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he credited the army with saving his life—it allowed him to see different viewpoints and he set himself on a better path. He became a successful District Manager for the John Hancock Company, bringing a struggling Grand Rapids Branch to number one status two years in a row. A kind, loyal and dependable man, he made everyone feel like a dear friend. He was best known for his jokes: some short, some elaborate and some a bit naughty (which he never told in front of a woman), and his card playing abilities.
