Born on February 25, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to Attilio (Eddie) and Candia (Connie) Colosimo, Ralph lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a warm spirit that touched all who knew him. As a young man while working at Crowley’s in Downtown Detroit, Ralph met the love of his life, Connie Zawacki. The two had some mutual work friends who thought they would be a good match and were trying to set them up. The two were married on September 3, 1966, at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Detroit. Their loving partnership was a testament to commitment and joy, filled with shared memories and mutual support for the course of 58 years.
Ralph became a longtime and devoted member of St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, in Clinton Township, where he served faithfully as an usher and played an active role in church events, particularly in fundraising efforts. As a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, he was the oldest current member of the St. Paul of Tarsus chapter, a distinction that reflected his deep dedication to his faith and community.
Beyond his involvement with the church, Ralph had many passions. He was an avid bowler, a sport that he and his wife both enjoyed, and eventually shared his love for the sport with his son. He also enjoyed golfing and watching WWE wrestling, finding excitement and camaraderie in both. He was also a dedicated stamp collector, appreciating the history and stories behind each piece of his collection.
Ralph will be remembered as a good and likable person, always ready with a helping hand and a kind word. His legacy of generosity, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Connie Colosimo; his son Mark Colosimo (Nancy); grandchildren Nathan, Ciara and Joshua (Melanie); and his brother Joseph Colosimo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Connie.
A visitation for Ralph will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. A funeral mass will follow on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038, at 10 AM, with an in-state gathering beginning at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Knight of Columbus – Council 11689.
May Ralph’s soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those he leaves behind.
