

Randy Mason, with family members and close friends at his side, died peacefully on September 8th, 2015 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A longtime resident St. Clair Shores, he was born in Warren, MI on April 23, 1965. Randy was the beloved father of Justin, Chad, Connor and daughter Sylvia.
He was the dearest brother of Rex (Susan), Ricky (Kathy), Roy (Robin), Ralph (Alesha) and Richard and sisters Barbara McDonald (Daniel), Brenda Ray (Scott) and Betty Jo White (Kenneth –Deceased) He was the beloved son of Cecil Mason (Deceased) and Patricia Mason.Many nephews, nieces and close friends survive. Former wife Susan remained a close friend and ally throughout and to the end of his life.
Randy attended North Warren Freewill Baptist Church and was active in many remodeling activities associated with the church. He spoke freely about his relationship with his Lord and confirmed he was ready to meet the Savior if it was his desire.
He was a popular 1984 graduate of Roseville’s Carl Brablec High School where he lettered in football. Some of his best friends on the Brablec team included Jack LaTour (Best Man), Jim McCorder and Joe Roberts. Randy also played organized softball on teams that included all five of his brothers. A gifted sales professional, he was the owner and founder of Randy’s Fine Jewelry before transitioning into the construction business with the founding of Mason’s Concrete Construction. After his illness was discovered he began the process of turning the business over to his sons Justin, Chad, and brother Richard, and continued to be active in the business until his death.
An avid sports fan, he loved the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. He was part of the Baker Concrete crew that provided the concrete and cement for the Lions Ford Field and Tigers Comerica Park.
Always the life of the party, Randy was a charismatic individual who loved Bar-B-Q’s and being around those he loved. He celebrated the last day of his life by driving home from U of M’s Medical Center and his most recent surgery, coordinating a backyard Bar-B-Q for family and friends, then going home
to meet his Lord.
