Another shining example of the Greatest Generation has left us and yet, has permanently marked our hearts with her grace and love. Our mother and our foundation has taken her place beside her departed husband – our father, Charles E. Carlsen. Our words here cannot convey the reality of a life so well lived that we are left with an example beyond our ability to properly relate here or adequately emulate.
Regina Carlsen leaves her legacy behind in her six children; Claire Vega (Mark), Linda Jones (Ralph), James Carlsen (Predeceased), Eileen Duffey (Al), Susan Gibbs (Steven), and Brian Carlsen. Grandchildren numbering eight and nine great-grandchildren also stand as testament to her devotion to holding her family together through every trial life may manifest.
Heartfelt loss defines what is gone so clearly and our mother’s departure leaves us all with a sense of having a missing part of ourselves that we will endeavor to fill in with love, following her example.
