Richard Presley Tradii Merrell

Richard Presley Tradii Merrell passed away at the age of 69. Richard was the loving husband of Lorrie and stepfather of Jared Schumaker. The beloved son of Presley Earl Merrell. He is also survived by his faithful companion J.C. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carlotta Tradii Merrell and grandparents Aurelio and Antonia Tradii and Edgar and Clara (Merrell) Orton.

Ric was a stationary Engineer at Detroit Public Schools. He also taught at Stationary Engineering School and served as an officer of Local 547 for 30 years.

In his spare time, Ric enjoyed hunting, sailing, bowling, riding motorcycles, playing guitar and operating his ham radio (wd8dad).

Ric was a true engineer and loved his 2011 Grand Sport Corvette.

Ric leaves behind many friends, but was especially close to Mark Kenward.

A memorial gathering celebrating Ric’s life will take place on Friday, June 29 from 12:30 to 1:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm.
