

Robert “Bob” F. Ballard of Harrison Township, passed away January 20, 2015 at the age of 91. Robert was born June 1, 1923, the son of the late George F. and Alga M. (Campau) Ballard in Harrison Township, Michigan. He was a 1943 graduate of Mount Clemens High School and a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1988. He worked for the U.S. Government at Selfridge Air National Guard Base and then the U.S. Army Tank Arsenal retiring in June 1980. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Clemens and the Harrison Township Historical Society. He enjoyed going to Florida, gardening and working with poultry. Robert is survived by brothers, Wesley (Loretta), Donald (Carol); sisters, Alma Chisnell, June (Robert) Hill and sister-in-law Nadine Ballard. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews and great nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, George F. and Alga M.(Campau) Ballard, brothers, Perry O. Ballard Sr. (sister-in-law Vina), Carl E. Ballard, nephews Robert Hill Jr., Paul Ballard, brothers-in-law, Laurence LeBlanc, and Robert Chisnell, and dear friend Robert Burger. Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan at a later date.
