Robert L. Jungwirth

Robert Leonard Jungwirth, age 86, of Clinton Township, Michigan passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. Robert was born November 29, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Raymond & Evelyn (Vernier) Jungwirth. Robert was a long-time member of St. Hubert’s church. He actively volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul, the Special Olympics, and as a master gardener. Robert was an avid Detroit sports fan. In his youth, he played basketball, football and ran bowling leagues at the East Warren Lanes. Robert also owned a houseboat with friends, participated in a stock club for more than 50 years, and had a timeshare in Cancun. He took great pleasure in spending time with family and friends. Robert loved water aerobics, gardening, lunches with friends, squirrels, and “wine time”. He was a proud graduate of both St. Matthews and De La Salle. Robert will be remembered best for his kindness, generosity, and the way he lit up a room with his big smile. He will be greatly missed. Robert is survived by his children, Jennifer (Shawn Grose) Jungwirth, Jeffrey (Rachel) Jungwirth; grandchildren, Jackson, Eleanor, Owen, Edward; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane; his son, Michael; and his brothers, Raymond & Richard. A visitation for Robert will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. An instate will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM at St Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss St, Harrison Township, MI 48045. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to De La Salle Collegiate, Advancement Department, 14600 Common Road, Warren, Michigan 48088.
