As a little girl I can remember my grandpa  hooking up his trailer to his tractor and taking my sister and I on hayrides. Such strong memories. It's as if i can almost smell the fresh air like it was yesterday.  We did this quite a few times at different times of the day. In the morning he would point out the birds and name every single type we saw. He would point out the deer and tell us if they were male or female, young or old. He taught me so much and showed me all the kinds of beauty there is in the world and I hope he always knows none of it ever left me. 
On the night rides he would tell us to just lay back and watch the sky. (He was probably trying to get us to relax so we would go to bed) You could see the entire Milky Way. My first memory of seeing a shooting star was on one of those rides and if I close my eyes I can almost see it, see him, there with me, like time just froze for a second.
When my older sister started kindergarten I was sad, but my grandpa came over and hung up a swing I had gotten in the mail from my aunt and just pushed me on that swing for what felt like hours. Just me and him laughing and goofing around. He made being happy so simple. I don't think I've smiled like that since being on that swing. Just having my grandpa there made it special. It was always a memory that stuck with me. 
As an adult, I have very bad anxiety and it mostly occurs when it comes to driving. Nobody understood me the way he did. He just kept telling me to go a short distance and that eventually I could drive anywhere. Now I still have a bit of driver’s anxiety, but I drive. I can get on a freeway “nervously” but as I drive I hear my grandpa Bob saying that I can do this. I miss having someone who understood that fear and overcame it. He knew exactly what to say and even more, how to say it to make me feel like everything was going to be okay. I love and miss you, grandpa. 

I was five years old, and it was my first day of Kindergarten. When my Mom had to leave me there, I started crying. Our teacher, Mrs Hamilton was attempting to calm me. Finally, she sat me down at a table, next to a little girl, who was playing wth clay, and across from a little boy, who was coloring with crayons. Neither was crying. I was given paper and was told that Robby, the boy opposite me would share the crayons. I soon ceased to cry. That boy was Robert MacDonald, and we have been friends ever since. An important character in the earliest chapter of my life. I'm so thankful that Robby was put in my path, so many years ago. Till' we meet again, Dear old friend.





I remember the way he would say “Hey Claire Bear!”

Childhood friends,  so glad we had this time together.  He will be missed by all of us. 

We were lucky enough to see Bob every evening as we closed out our branch. There was a fun game for a while that me and Bob would each hide this little yellow guy around the branch and it was the job of the other person to find where it is. Last time we got a chance to talk I gave him the little yellow guy. I don't know if he ever got the chance to hide it. Also when I was pregnant I had a hard time bending to pick things up and he would laugh at me everytime I dropped my keys. Soon after he brought me a grab stick for picking up the things I dropped. He was wonderful and had a fantastic sense of humor. 

Dear family, 
We are so sorry for your loss! 
We have many good memories of Bob. 
He was kind to all & always concerned about what was going on with everyone. He wanted the best for everyone! 
We enjoyed good conversation with him  &  he enjoyed being with all of us, as we all enjoyed having him around. 
 He will be deeply missed by us all!
