Robert was the beloved husband of 59 years to Jenny Lee (Warehall) Marsden; Adored father of Clifford Marsden (Nicole Walus), Christopher Marsden (Stephanie), and Richard and Carrie Lamb; Devoted grandfather of Gavin Marsden, Maxwell Marsden, Reese Marsden, Ashton Lamb, Alex Lamb, Emma Walus, John Walus and Maxx Walus.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 31, 1943 to Robert A. and Dorothy Marsden. From an early age, Robert aspired to get a good job and get married and have a family. He and his bride, Jenny Lee were married on January 22, 1966. From that point on they built a beautiful life together. He always said that his proudest family moments were getting married and having wonderful children and grandchildren. He loved most to spend time with his family. Robert worked in commercial banking for the Bank of Commerce, advancing over the years with classes and training, eventually becoming the vice president of the Bank of Commerce. He also worked with Motor City Casino as a casino controller, a job he enjoyed as he quickly picked up on the in-depth details of the games.
Robert honorably served in the Michigan Army National Guard from 1964-1970, actively serving during the 1967 Detroit Race Riots. He reached a rank of Sergeant First Class during his service of 6 years.
Robert was an easy going family man, a good husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 1-7 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. Following on Monday, May 19, 2025, an instate gathering will begin at 9:30 AM and commence until time of a funeral mass at 10 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12311 19 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan, 48313. A brief committal service and burial will take place after the mass at 11:30 AM at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township.
