Roger Soulliere Jr., a devoted family man and hardscape pioneer, died during liver transplant surgery March 1st, 2021 at the age of 61. Born November 3rd, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Roger and Wanda (Baren) Soulliere, he developed a passion for working outdoors while growing up on his family sod farm. It was here where he developed an unmatched work ethic, which would lay the groundwork for his future business aspirations. With the help of his brothers and sister, he founded and created the largest hardscape/landscape installation company in metro Detroit, Soulliere Decorative Stone. His brilliance in creative design and ability to problem solve complex situations, would lead the company to do such high-profile jobs as Ford Field and Comerica Park, which can still be seen today. Roger loved helping others and always gave more than he took. Roger, current resident of Auburn Hills and previously of Clinton and Shelby Township, especially enjoyed his weekly golf league at Cracklewood, taking his yearly trip to Cancun, mentoring young hardscape professionals and satisfying his competitive spirit at cards and table games. The only thing that came second to his work was his family, which he would do anything for. He was a loving husband, brother and especially exceptional father who molded his children in his image. He will be sorely missed by everyone, especially his children, granddaughter and future grandchildren, but his spirit will live on within them.
Roger, husband to the late Pamela (Schultz) Soulliere, is survived by his children Sarah (Austin) Soulliere and Roger (Caroline) Soulliere III. A loving grandfather to Rogue Kaiser and future grandson Lincoln Kaiser. Cherished sibling to Terry (Vince) Leone, Pam (Terry) Pietryga, Margaret (William) Grant, Carol (Michael) Wickersham, Scott (Barbara) Soulliere, Mike (Lynn) Soulliere and the late Patrick Soulliere, Johnny Soulliere and Sandra Burns. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
