Rosemary Bering was born on February 8, 1954 to Charlotte and Johan Klein at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Warren, where she would also later be confirmed.
Rosemary’s German heritage factored heavily in her life from an early age. She danced in the Saxon Youth Group and was a regular participant at many German functions throughout her life. In 1969, at the age of 15, she joined the Carpathia Youth Group and Mädchen Kranz. It was at Carpathia that she met Anton (Tony) Bering, her future husband and soulmate.
Rose graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores with honors in 1972 and began her career at General Motors in the Fisher Body Division that same year.
In 1973, after going steady for four years, Tony asked Rose to be his wife. They were engaged in early spring and married on June 1, 1974. They purchased their first house together in East Point and brought home their first “baby”, a German Shepherd named Raja.
With eight years of marriage under their belt, Rose and Tony welcomed their first child, Bianca Annemarie, into the world in the fall of 1982. Two years later, they moved to their current home in Clinton Township and added another member to the family, Anton (Jr) Jonathan, in 1987.
Rose ensured her German cultural upbringing was passed down to her children, enrolling them both into the Saxon dance groups, and later, the Carpathia German School and dance groups.
In her spare time, Rose loved to be outdoors gardening. It was her passion. She would spend any free time she had—spring, summer or fall— outside planting and replanting. She volunteered her time gardening for her church, Carpathia Club, and her daughter’s garden. Rose would often arrive wearing her father’s old gardening hat with plants she had brought from her own garden to donate.
She also loved decorating and had a knack for crafts. Her favorite time of year was Christmas. Starting the first week in November, she would begin crafting and decorating for the upcoming holiday season.
Rose was a true lover of all animals—especially her kitties, and those of her daughter. She loved to sit, cuddle, and talk to them.
She was truly the best wife and mother anyone could ever ask for, a real genuine “mama-bear” who loved her family unconditionally. She was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched throughout the years.
A Visitation will be held 2-8PM Friday at Resurrection Funeral Home, Clinton Twp. A Funeral Service will be held 10AM, instate at 9AM Saturday December 1, 2018 at St Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11423 Chicago Rd., Warren, 48093.
