Growing up with Russ was always exciting when our feet hit the ground we were gone.  He had so many friends playing baseball, riding bikes, building forts in the fields, we always played and had fun. Russ loved to ride his dirt bike he would ride all day on the trails in Gladwin.  Growing older cars became his focus, he had a 65 Chev Super Sport it  would fly. He would fish and hunt all day. He always had fish or wild game to eat. He met Ellen and they became soulmates.  They started a family and they worked to have all the things they needed.  They bought 30 acres in Gladwin and we built a Pole Barn then a House of dreams. Ellen battled  cancer many years with Russ by her side.  Their Faith kept them strong throughout their lives. Russ pushed forward but without Ellen he hit many detours. He is now with his Love and will be watching over all of us with God by his side. We will all miss you, Love you " Forever".

My greatest memory of Russ is that he could fix anything. When I would have a problem up North especially in the plumbing /well issue Russ could always fix it and he would always take the time with you to show you what to do and never complained that he was too busy.  I will miss Russ's great knowledge bank and he was great to socialize with.  Too bad he never was able to do his goal of retiring in Gladwin.

I will never forget how much fun Uncle Russ was when he was in the water up north playing with us kids. He could stay under water for a long time.  He used to throw us up in air really high and we would land with huge splashes!  
 I also remember him, Grandpa, and my Dad taking me, Jaysen, Krissy, and Ryan  fishing either out on the pontune boat or off the dock. They loved teaching us how to fish. They all loved being out doors.  They are all together again.   

Visitation

His memory lives on with his daughter Kristen (Hans), son Ryan and grandson Bret, Karl and Max. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Russ is predeceased by his wife Ellen (nee Galloway), parents Shirley and Hermice and brother Gary.
