Sandra “Sandy” Gabor passed away on March 31, 2022. Sandy was a loving partner of Ken O’Brien for 27 years and beloved mother of Nathan, Aaron, and Brad. Caring grandmother of Joshua “Josh” and extended family Foster, Kennedy, Kate, Will, and Jane. She is survived by her brothers John “Jack”, William “Bill”, and Rob and extended family Kenny, Robert “Rob”, and Kari and their spouses.
She was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1966 and performed as a Huskett dancer during high school. Sandy lived an amazing life. She loved her family and friends. Her laugh and sense of humor was ‘one of a kind.’ Sandy could see the funny side of things in any situation, including laughing at herself. She made everyone that came to her home feel welcome. One of her favorite outings was lunch with her girlfriends. A 2 hour lunch would end up being 4 hours of telling stories, laughing, and causing a commotion at the restaurant.
Sandy was a loving mother. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her sons. She loved her grandson Josh, making costumes at Halloween, including dressing up herself. She would drop everything to be there for him.
Sandy loved Ken. The time they had together was precious. When Ken was on a bowling team, she supported him and made cookies for the team. Sandy loved Ken taking her out to eat, versus her cooking. They had fun trying out ‘slider burger’ restaurants. In the spring, much to Ken’s chagrin, Sandy would buy flowers and get Ken to plant them around the house to brighten up the yard.
It is difficult to imagine the days ahead without hearing her voice, seeing her smile, and hearing her contagious laugh. Sandy will be missed.
Visitation is on Wednesday, April 6 from 3-8PM at Kaul Funeral Home located at 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
