Sandra, 80, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025. Sandra was born on February 27, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Russell and Dorothy Fante. She graduated from St. Charles Catholic School in 1963 where she met the love of her life, Carlo. Carlo and “Sandy” were married on October 8, 1966 and remained married for 58 years. They had three daughters.
Sandra was an amazing mother and devoted wife but her most treasured role was being ‘Nana’ to her seven grandchildren.
Sandra retired early from William Beaumont hospital to care for her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting or school event. She hosted many sleepovers and never turned down an opportunity to babysit. She loved to bake, shop, play cards, watch Detroit Tiger games and read.
Family was her heart and soul, and the memories made with her will never be forgotten.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Dorothy and her beloved niece, Jennifer Kuphal.
Sandra will always be in the hearts of her devoted husband Carlo, loving daughters Lisa (Jim) Gabrysh, Denise (Craig) McLaughlin and Renee Clifford, cherished grandkids, Eric, Ryan, Ally, Jamie, Carly, Ava and Lainey, her brother Roger Grimaldi and in-laws Vito and Joann Granata, and her closest confidant and “sister” cousin, Sharon Angell along with many friends.
A Memorial Gathering for Sandra will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township.
