Dear Fresard Family, I am Gerald and Ila's youngest child. I remember many summer visits with Eileen and Shirley. Shirley took me and Judy Hajas to Michigan when we were 15 to babysit. She always had a smile and made you feel welcome. She will be missed.

Shirley was a very dear to me and my sister while she worked at MORC.  She was very kind and would always make sure that my sister would go out for a very nice lunch at Christmas time.

My sincere condolences to the Fresard family. Shirley was a one of my Mom's favorite nieces and I remember spending time with your family when I was young.  Mary Jo and I are the same age, so it was quite an adventure to stay with my American cousins in the summer.  I remember how kind and caring Shirley was and so proud of her family- she will not be forgotten.

I remember Shirley as someone who was so happy and positive about life.  She loved a good story, especially if it made her laugh.  Shirley's laugh was infectious and she always enjoyed the moment whether it was at the farm, Grand Bend or at home.  What a special person, she will be missed.

Uncle George Sr. and family, one of my fondest memories of Aunt Shirley is being just old enough to walk to the mail box by myself looking forward to the birthday card (and the $1 US) she sent me each year, and thinking  what a wonderful Godmother I have.  So sorry for your loss.

(And as a child I remember she always had a stash of wrigley's gum for us kids - whether we deserved it or not- funny the things you remember...). Patrick Hajas and family.

Our Sincere Sympathy from The O'Rourke's on the farm homestead in Khiva where Shirley's mother was born and raised. We too looked forward to when the Fresard's came to visit their Canadian cousins. George and Shirley always had stories to tell us of their family lives in the States. Not only the "Bus" but an Edsel and Cadillac added excitement when they rolled up our farm laneway. I was also fortunate to have had a lovely, long chat on the phone with Aunt Shirley last spring while I was back in Dashwood visiting my Mom and Dad. I know the Fresards will miss Shirley dearly.
