Thomas L. Dahl passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the age of 81. He was the loving husband of the late Susan Dahl for 60 years. Thomas was the beloved father of Karen (Edward) Eskridge, Thomas (Dr. Kimberly Danta-Dahl) Dahl, Marybeth (Stephen) Betts, Denise Dahl, the late Susan Dahl, Yvette (Jason) Matta, and John (Julie) Dahl. He was the cherished grandpa of Stephen (Abby) Betts, Kaitlyn Betts, Savannah Stuart-Dahl, Jennifer (Casey Cheney) Eskridge, Madelyn (Scott Johnson) Betts, Edward Eskridge Jr., Jillian (Mitchell) Smith, Jarrison Dahl, Delaney Dahl, Rylie Matta, Tyler Matta, Addyson Matta, and Avery Dahl. He was the treasured great grandpa of Tristen, Audae, Callie, Waldon, Roland, Eleanor, and Mia. He is the dear brother of Ellie (Rick) Halulah, Richard (Becky) Dahl, the late Susan (Gerald) Burlingame, the late Gary (Marlene) Dahl, the late Merry Carol (Mike) Gamichia, and Beverly (Timothy) Groesbeck.
Tom was a genuine person who enjoyed the things in life around him. He was a skilled tool maker, and worked and eventually retired from Ford Motor Company as a tool and die maker. True to his trade, he was a Ford Man and a “do it yourself” kind of guy. Tom served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was captain of his ship (his pontoon), making sure that everyone aboard cruised the waters safely as “law abiding citizens”. Tom enjoyed bowling and fishing throughout his life and once he retired he was able to spend more time out on the water, at the bowling alley, taking trips to the casino, and golfing, but most of all, spending time with his family. He was always happy, chatting and telling stories to others around him. He loved to see the family expand, and was excited to meet and hold the new babies in the family. Though he didn’t say it out loud, he was caring and sensitive, wanting to make sure those in his family were taken care of. His faith was also very important to him. A devout catholic, he participated in many ways over the years in church life, from Knights of Columbus, acting as an usher or even just attending and supporting the church at their fish fries. In his home life he loved the time spent with his wife, the dogs they had over the years, and cookies and coffee they shared by themselves and with others over the years. Tom leaves behind a legacy of love, and he will be deeply missed.
