Tom proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1962-1965. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii and Alameda, California. Tom was very outgoing, loving and could always be seen with a big smile. He worked at many tool and die shops- eventually landing at Chrysler Motors Jefferson North Assembly Plant until retirement. Tom loved photography- he was also a professional photographer and owned his own business called Images. He enjoyed gardening, watching tv, and taking care of his cats; Fritz, Missy, Puka and Baby. Tom liked to travel to Fort Myers, Florida and Mackinac Island. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Community. Tom will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Tom is survived by his sister, Carolyn; nephews, Matt Taszreak, Chris Taszreak; cousin, Dave (Toni) Lesinski; and his dear friend and significant other, Mary Vaidya. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved wife of 31 years, Mary Ann Nettie Lesinski.
A memorial mass with military honors will be held at 9:30 AM, with memorial visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, on Monday, August 31, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Community, 40501 Hayes Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make contributions in memory of Tom may do so to the Wounded Warrior Project. Donation forms and envelopes will be available at the church.
