Vern was the beloved husband for 67 years to the late Shirley, who preceded him in death in January 2022; Loving father of Dean (Gloria) and Kerry (Pamela). Cherished grandfather of seven grandsons, Al (Julie), Jason, Jack, Nick (Erika), Mitch (Nydia), Martin, and Zack. Proud great grandfather of twins Phoenix and Jerome, Alexis, Pablo and Michelle. All McCreadie's! Also the dear uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Vern’s joys in life were simple; he enjoyed doing things that allowed him to be present in the moment. He was an avid golfer, and previously served as past president of Gowanie Golf Club in Harrison Township, where he and Shirley were members for 40+ years. Vern co-founded his machinist shop, Grind All Precision Tool Company and was able to work for himself in his family business until his retirement. Following his retirement, he backpacked across England in his mid-60s on foot. In his free time, he also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching freighters on the St. Clair River, and hunting for mushrooms. He will be sorely missed.
Services for Vern will take at a future date, when he and his wife Shirley will be laid to rest at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, Michigan.
