

William E. “Willie” Maynard, 91 passed away May 14, 2016. Born April 6, 1925 to John and Irma (Buhler) Maynard. Married on June 15, 1946 to the late Arlene “Erickson” Maynard. Loving father of Gwendolyn (William) Neill, Randy Maynard, Deborah (Patrick) Erickson and Gary Maynard. Grandfather of 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Brother of Ernestine Hankins, Sue (Bryd) Robinson, Claude (Patsy) Maynard and Jim Maynard. Proceeded in death by parents, John and Irma, wife of 69 years Arlene, and brothers Raymond and Eugene (Buddy) Maynard. Willie proudly served his country in WWII traveling to Germany. After the war he became an iron worker with Local 25 out of Detroit, and was a dues paying member for 64 years. Willie was an avid fisherman, woodworker, gardener, coon and pheasant hunter. He loved feeding birds, trapping squirrels and shooting chipmunks. Willie loved his horses, at one time he had 17, and he loved to tinker. Visitation for Willie will be held at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Rd. Clinton Twp., MI 48038 on Friday May 20, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 9p.m. Funeral Services in his honor will be at Resurrection Funeral Home on Saturday May 21, 2016 with an in state time of 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp., MI where Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Vietnam Veterans Post 154.
