For 95 years, Willie Mae Berg faithfully served her Lord and Savior. Now she is spending eternity with Jesus Christ after finishing her mission on earth December 2, 2018.

Willie Mae, along with her identical twin sister, Mabel, was born in Tennessee on December 1, 1923. They were the youngest of eight siblings. After moving to Detroit for work, Willie Mae met the love of her life, Kenneth Paul Berg. Together they served in various church ministries and were dedicated to making the Word of God available to everyone through their work with Gideons International.

They served Christ hand-in-hand for 42 years before Kenneth passed away in 1990. Even after Kenneth's death, Willie Mae continued to serve in those ministries and wherever the Lord placed her until her last breath. As Ma to Melissa, Grammie to four, and G-G to six, she invested in each with love and shared her passion for Christ.

Willie Mae leaves behind her daughter Melissa (Dennis) Hormel; four grandchildren Brennecke (Raul) Hinojosa, Brianna (Michael) Newlin, Britannia (Joshua) Dykstra and Brogen Hormel; six great grandchildren, Brantley, Charleston, Clayton, Mabel, Marlowe and Rylyn; special nephew Daniel (Linda) Fluker Sr., his children Daniel (Kristine) Fluker Jr., Susan Landon; and several nieces and nephews.

I remember my Great Aunt Willie Mae came all the way to Tucson, Arizona to attend my June Wedding in 1997. That is REAL LOVE! I also remember as a child, loving to touch the velvet wallpaper as I entered her home. Everything seemed so fancy and proper there. I loved her for it.
