Albert Steven Elming

Albert Steven “Steve” Elming was born in Fresno, California, to Betty and Albert Elming on June 28, 1954. The family made their home in Alder Springs, where Steve’s love of the outdoors and adventure began.

At the age of 20, Steve set out on a remarkable journey that would take him around the world. He hiked countless trails and sailed many oceans, living a life of adventure and exploration like no other. He brought those experiences home and loved sharing his stories and memories with family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Steve touched many lives through his generosity, hard work, and willingness to help others. He was deeply committed to keeping the logging heritage and history of the community alive. Through his successful businesses in Shaver Lake, Steve created places that became more than businesses—they became living museums celebrating the history, traditions, and people who came before us. His dedication made him a true pillar of the Shaver Lake community.

Steve has chosen to be with the Lord and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Though his passing leaves a profound emptiness, we are grateful for the memories, stories, adventures, and countless lives he touched. His legacy will live on in the community he cherished and in the hearts of those who knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Rochelle Sargentini; his two children, Sophia Elming and Saylen Elming; his sister, Pamela Barton; his brother, Timothy Elming; and his two grandchildren, Genneva Sandrini and Banks Elming.

May Steve’s spirit of adventure, generosity, and love for the people and places he called home continue to inspire us all.
