Albert was born on June 3, 1955, in Fresno, California. He graduated from McLane High School in 1973 and spent much of his working life serving his community as a Fresno City bus driver before later working as a long-haul truck driver. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature.
Above all else, Albert cherished his family. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather who found immense joy in spending time with those he loved. His greatest happiness came from watching his family grow and creating lasting memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Albert had a special love for animals, especially his beloved cocker spaniels. Maggie held a special place in his heart throughout her life, and in 2017 he welcomed Beau into his family. Many mornings and afternoons were spent at Orchid Park, where Albert enjoyed walking and playing with Beau. The park became a second home, and he formed many lasting friendships with fellow dog lovers who shared his appreciation for their four-legged companions.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Albert played football at McLane High School before continuing his athletic career at Fresno City College, where he was a member of the Rams’ 1973 California Community College co-state championship team. His love of sports remained with him throughout his life, and he especially cherished the friendships and memories forged on the football field. He enthusiastically supported the Fresno State Bulldogs and the San Francisco 49ers. Whether watching a game at home or discussing the latest season with friends and family, his love of sports was an integral facet of his life.
Albert is survived by his son, Nicholas Rousseau; his daughter, Andrea Rousseau-Lloyd, and her husband, Jeremy Lloyd; his cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Joshua, and Cheyenne; his great-granddaughter, Jane Mellanie Lloyd; his brother, Jean Rousseau, and his wife, Andria Rousseau; his nephew, Jordan Rousseau, and his wife, Macie, and their children, Ella Jean and Carter; his nieces, Madison and Alexandra Rousseau; his sister, Georgia; and his ex-wife, Sherry Hanchey. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his kindness, strength, and sense of humor.
Albert will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his compassion for animals, his dedication to his work, and the friendships he built throughout his life.
His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, support, and kindness during his illness and in the days following his passing.
