Alexander James Jerry Shields “Alex”, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and nephew, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025, in Fresno, California, at the age of 21. Born on March 24, 2004, Alex was a beacon of positivity and inspiration, known for his thoughtful and compassionate nature. His big heart and kind spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a proud Fresno State Bulldog, majoring in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting. Alex’s hobbies included drumming, gaming, hanging out with friends and family, lifting weights, watching anime, driving, and playing Pokémon. He enjoyed playing percussion as a youth and later playing drums in local bands. Alex got his first job making and delivering sandwiches at Jimmy John’s. Known for his strategic mind, he enjoyed playing chess with his father and uncle, often winning the games. Alex excelled in playing Pokémon, winning several tournaments. He is survived by his loving family, including his parents, Kevin and Jacie Shields; his sisters, Samantha, Katie, and Lizzie Shields; his grandmother, Carol Broyles; his uncle, Matthew Broyles; and his aunt and uncle, Jo and Ste Goodison. Alex’s genuine and inspirational impact on the lives of those who knew him will be deeply missed by all. Alex publicly displayed his faith in Jesus through baptism and now he rests in the arms of our Lord forever.
