

In 1944 she met a young Army Sergeant named Charles Stebbins while working at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Depot. He was “fighting the war” as a pharmacist in the Medical Corps. They were married after the war in 1946 and moved to Lincoln, Ca where their two sons were born. They all moved to Stockton, CA three years later and had their daughter in 1962. Anna Mae was active in her Catholic church and was focused tirelessly on caring for her family. They celebrated their golden anniversary in 1996 and Charlie passed away in 1999. Anna Mae moved to Fresno in 2005 to be nearer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Stebbins, her brother Robert and her sister Mildred.
Anna Mae is survived by her children: John Stebbins and his wife Elaine, Nancy Gilmore and her husband Gary, and Gary Stebbins and his wife Maureen, her sisters; Betty Davies, Ruth Morrissey, and Loretta Sittenauer. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto, CA on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M with Father Jeff Wilson from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church officiating .
The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Imelda and Rosie at Graysful Living and Dr. Jean Linder and Dr. Victor Flauta.
