Betty lived a life marked by quiet strength, creativity, and a deep, steady love that reached everyone around her. As an artist specializing in industrial billboards, she worked on a grand scale—turning everyday spaces into places touched by imagination. She had a rare gift for making the practical beautiful, and she carried that same gift into every corner of her life. Her humor, her lightness, and her ability to keep things from becoming too serious made her presence a comfort and a joy.
But Betty’s artistry didn’t end with her work. She found beauty everywhere: in her garden, where she nurtured life with patient hands; in music, where she sang in choir and played piano with a gentle, expressive touch; in painting, where she captured the world as she saw it; in sunsets, which she never stopped pausing to admire; and in the saddle, where her love for horses brought her peace and freedom.
Above all, Betty loved her family. She poured herself into being present—hosting grandchildren for summer visits, cheering from the sidelines at activities, and showing up in the small, everyday ways that become the memories families hold onto forever. Her home was a place of welcome, laughter, and warmth.
Her faith was the quiet compass of her life. Betty loved the Lord deeply, and she shared that love not through grand gestures but through the way she lived—steady, kind, generous, and always guiding others gently toward Him.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leonard Rule.

In remembering Betty, may we smile at the thought of a woman who lived with open hands and an open heart—who painted beauty into the world, who loved her family fiercely, who cherished God’s creation from gardens to sunsets, and who reminded us all that life is richer when you can laugh, love deeply, and make something beautiful along the way.
