Beverly was born and raised in Fresno, California. She was the first of two daughters born to George and Clara Cavounis. She graduated from Fresno High School in 1958 and attended Fresno City College. Beverly and Russell were married for over 50 years. Her lengthy career in banking suited her personality and enabled her to make friends with coworkers and customers alike. She took tremendous pride in her son’s academic and professional achievements, and they enjoyed a close relationship throughout her life. Beverly cherished time with her family and friends. She also loved her dogs and frequently commented to others, “She doesn’t know she’s a dog!” Beverly was outgoing and initiated conversations with strangers wherever she went. She will be remembered for her unconditional love of family and friends, gregariousness, attention to detail, integrity, generosity, and warmth.
Beverly is survived by her son, Stephen Pointkowski and his wife, April Rose; granddaughters, Olivia and Alexis Pointkowski; sister, Nickie Zografos; and beloved dog, Faye Rae. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pointkowski, and parents, George and Clara Cavounis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, located at 2219 North Orchard Street, Fresno, California, 93703.
