Bruce Conley, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Born in 1938 in Reedley, California, to Wiley Roger Conley Sr. and Marjorie Hine Conley, Bruce was raised and educated in Reedley, California. He attended local schools before continuing his education at Reedley College. Bruce also served our country in the Air National Guard.
Bruce spent much of his life in the Reedley area as a respected and successful rancher. As an owner-operator, he managed over 250 acres of farmland that included grape vineyards, orange groves, and pastureland along the Kings River. His strong work ethic and deep connection to the land shaped much of his life. He also served in an executive role with Sun-Maid Raisin Growers, contributing significantly to the agricultural community he cherished.
As a proud father to three daughters, Robin, Pam, and Renee—Bruce held a deep love for his family. Later in life, he married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Tyler, building a life together grounded in faith, love, and family. The couple were faithful followers of the Baptist Church, and Bruce lived out his Christian faith daily. He was actively involved in prison ministry, where he shared his compassion and testimony, positively impacting many lives.
Bruce’s love extended profoundly to his grandchildren, whom he supported wholeheartedly, attending sporting events and family gatherings whenever possible. He also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews—Margie, Leeana, and Wiley—offering them guidance and fatherly love, helping shape their lives with care and kindness.
Though Bruce made his home in California for many years, he also developed strong bonds with family members in Oklahoma, maintaining close connections across states and generations. His presence was a gift to all who knew him.
Bruce is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughters Robin, Pam, and Renee; his beloved grandchildren; his brother Wiley Roger Conley Jr.; his sister-in-law Vicki Lee Anderson Conley; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to his family, tireless work ethic, quiet strength, and kindness. Bruce Conley’s legacy of loyalty, resilience, and love lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held soon in California, honoring a life well-lived with conviction and love.
With deepest respect and gratitude, we remember and honor Bruce Conley, whose spirit continues to inspire and comfort us all.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 21st at 11:00 am at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno, California. The family has requested in lieu of floral arrangements that donations be made to Prison Discipleship, Inc. P.O. Box 691002, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74168
