Chris was born in Bakersfield, CA but lived most of his childhood in Fresno, CA and raised his family in Clovis, CA.
As a teen, he was a musician performing in his own band with his middle school friends, then the Roosevelt High School Marching Band and eventually the last music group Enigma with his cousin John “Sandy” Sandate. He met the love of his life Rosemary at one of his many performances. They were married for 42 years. He passed on his love of music and musicianship to his three sons, all who became musicians themselves. He loved going to concerts with them and they all share those great memories.
As a dad, Chris stepped up to support his sons in all their pursuits starting with coaching their soccer teams. At one point, he even created elaborate costumes for a marching band competition. He was very proud of all his sons’ accomplishments.
Chris has always had a strong work ethic that was instilled at a young age. He experienced working in the agriculture fields as a young boy, then for the City of Fresno in a teen program, followed by a time at the IRS. He came to discover his skill and passion was in interior design, specifically restoration of fine furniture which he did many years before his career change. He then entered the world of finance and sold insurance and retirement products.
Chris loved his extended family including his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a man of many talents which led to many friendships. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
